OUR INSTITUTES & CAMPUSES

Our projects

Obonoma Campus (Pilot Institute)

The Obonoma Campus serves as the flagship and pilot institute of the OB Lulu-Briggs Center of Innovation. Strategically located to foster community engagement and access, the campus hosts core training programs, innovation facilities, and administrative operations.

This campus represents the proof of concept for the Center’s institutional model.

Digital Skills & CBT Preparedness Program

The OB Lulu-Briggs Center of Innovation delivers a structured, tiered
digital skills and examination preparedness program designed to
improve digital literacy, academic performance, and early career
readiness among young people within its host communities.

The program combines foundational ICT training, productivity skills,
specialized digital pathways, and Computer-Based Test (CBT)
preparation, ensuring learners are not only digitally competent, but
academically and professionally prepared.

Program Structure

This foundational tier introduces learners to essential computer
knowledge and digital literacy. Participants gain hands-on familiarity
with computer systems, operating environments, keyboarding skills, and
responsible technology use

The course is designed especially for first-time users and students
preparing for computer-based academic work and examinations.

Building on foundational knowledge, this tier equips learners with
practical productivity skills using widely adopted tools such as:
● Microsoft Word (documentation and assignments)
● Microsoft Excel (basic data handling and calculations)
● Microsoft PowerPoint (presentations and visual communication)

Emphasis is placed on academic relevance, functional digital competence, and everyday productivity.

Option A: Digital Multimedia Specialisation

This pathway introduces learners to visual communication, basic graphic
design, and multimedia tools, building creative confidence and digital
expression skills.

Option B: Content Creation & Digital Business

This pathway focuses on digital content development, online
communication, branding fundamentals, and introductory digital
enterprise skills, providing early exposure to the digital economy.

Target Beneficiaries

The program is designed to serve:
● Secondary school students (SS1–SS3)
● Young people within the host communities who are willing andmotivated to learn

The Center prioritizes access, inclusion, and early skills exposure, particularly for learners who may otherwise lack access to digital infrastructure.

CBT Examination Support & Academic Preparedness

In addition to skills training, the OB Lulu-Briggs Center of Innovation organizes Computer-Based Test (CBT) mock examinations to prepare candidates for JAMB, WAEC, NECO, and other computer-based assessments.

These mock examinations are conducted in a simulated exam environment to help learners:

● Gain familiarity with CBT formats and navigation
● Improve speed, accuracy, and confidence
● Reduce examination anxiety through practice

A key objective of this initiative is to provide local access to a standard CBT facility, ensuring that candidates no longer need to travel to Port Harcourt or other neighbouring Local Government Areas to sit for their examinations

Strategic Impact & Regional Advantage

The OB Lulu-Briggs Center of Innovation is currently the only digital skills training and CBT facility serving Asari-Toru and Akuku-Toru Local Government Areas. This unique position presents a significant educational and developmental advantage for youths in the region.

By improving access to digital training and examination infrastructure, the Center:
● Enhances academic performance
● Reduces financial and logistical barriers
● Improves digital literacy outcomes
● Strengthens long-term human capital development

Through this program, the Center directly contributes to educational equity, youth empowerment, and sustainable community development.

Partner Campuses & Institutes

In addition to the Obonoma Campus, the Center is structured to support partner campuses and affiliated institutes. These partnerships allow for
expansion, specialization, and broader reach while maintaining shared standards and quality.

Each partner campus operates within the Center’s institutionalframework.

Training Focus by Campus

To enhance effectiveness and relevance, campuses may specialize in specific training areas such as:
● Technology and digital skills
● Vocational and technical training
● Creative and media skills
● Entrepreneurship and enterprise development

This distributed focus ensures depth, quality, and contextual relevance.

Certification Pathways

Learners at the OB Center progress through clearly defined certification pathways, which may include:
● Foundational certificates
● Intermediate skill certifications
● Advanced or professional credentials
● Partner or industry-recognized certifications

These pathways support progression, employability, and lifelong learning.
